Size up a month of restroom supplies for your San Jose building

Running out of paper in a busy San Jose lobby restroom brings complaints within the hour, while overbuying crowds a closet you’d rather use for other things. Give the estimator your facility type, the number of people working in the building on a typical day, the visitors who pass through, and your open days per month. Then add your tissue roll size, your hand-drying method, your soap type (foam or liquid) and your count of restroom trash bins. You get back an estimate of monthly restroom visits plus a low-to-high range for every product.

How the numbers are built

The estimator begins with people. It takes the staff and visitors you enter, applies building design defaults for how often each group uses a restroom in that kind of facility, and multiplies by your open days to arrive at monthly restroom visits. Staff weigh more than visitors because they spend the whole day in the building, whereas a shopper or a client at reception may never use the restroom.

From those visits it calculates paper and soap, using hand-washing observation studies for how much a typical visit consumes, then converts the totals into the roll, towel and refill sizes you chose. Liner counts come from your bin total and your open days.

Why the result is a range

Two buildings with matching headcounts seldom go through the same amount of paper. Habits vary, dispensers vary, and Monday traffic doesn’t look like Friday traffic. One number would miss most months, so the estimator shows a band instead. Order near the bottom of it for a steady office crowd and near the top when visitors or events increase. After a month or two of real use, the empty cartons show where in the band your building really falls.

What drives paper and soap use higher

  • Visitor-heavy buildings. Retail floors, gyms, churches and offices with a busy front counter get lots of short visits, and every one uses towels and soap.
  • Roll towels versus multifold. Multifold stacks let people grab several sheets at once, while controlled-feed roll towels usually waste less.
  • Dispensers without portion control. Open trays and free-spinning holders encourage overuse; dispensers that release one sheet or one measured shot of soap hold it back.
  • Jumbo or standard tissue. Jumbo rolls change how many rolls you count, not how much paper gets used, and they need changing less often between visits.

Moving to hand dryers removes towels from the list but not soap, and some restrooms keep a towel dispenser beside the dryer anyway. Our restroom cleaning checklist explains how dispensers are checked and refilled on every visit.

Supplies this estimate doesn’t count

Two items are left out of the estimate: toilet seat covers and sanitary-napkin bin bags, since no reliable published figure exists to base them on, and their use depends heavily on who is in the building. Hand sanitizer in lobbies and hallways, breakroom paper and kitchen soap also fall outside the restroom count; breakroom and pantry restocking looks after those spaces. Add them to your order based on what you already use, and we can track them along with everything else once service starts.

From an estimate to full dispensers

Treat the range as the starting point for your order. Tap the send button next to your range to add it to the price request on this page. Through our janitorial supplies service in San Jose we can provide tissue, towels, soap, seat covers and liners from our stock, or use the products you already buy, and crews refill dispensers as they clean. When restrooms need more than a nightly top-up, commercial restroom deep cleaning restores grout, partitions and fixtures. The task list builder and cleaning schedule planner handle the rest of the building.

A few useful answers

Common questions

Who goes in the people box, and who counts as a visitor?

People are those who spend the working day in the building: staff, tenants’ employees, and students at a school. Visitors are guests who come and go, such as customers, patients, gym members or delivery drivers.

Should I enter my busiest day or a normal one?

Enter a normal day for the monthly order, then look at the top of the range for weeks with events, open houses or seasonal rushes.

Can your crews keep our San Jose restrooms stocked to this range?

We can. Our own supply can cover tissue, towels, soap and liners, or we can refill dispensers with the products you purchase, and crews watch levels as they clean.

Why are seat covers not in the estimate?

Studies of restroom habits don’t give a usable count for seat covers, so the tool skips them instead of guessing. We stock them alongside the other restroom supplies based on what your building actually uses.
